“I have been selling the fruits and vegetables of my own farm on this street for twenty years to people who come to this village for a picnic. COVID-19 has affected the area now, people don't come as they used to. I hope by the time my fruits and vegetables are well grown, people start visiting again. My son sells fish, and also supplies fish to other sellers. My grandson is with me by day, he is with me more than he is with his parents.” ...

“After I received my diploma, I became a teacher in Mahabad. However, I was imprisoned for three years. A lot of bad things happened in those three years; My father and my big brother passed away, who was the source of my inspiration for singing. After I was released from prison, I went back to an empty house. My brother had a beautiful voice, but no one had been a singer in our family. My father knew that I had a good voice, but he never let me sing in front of my friends when we used to hang out because unfortunately, in our country singing is widely misunderstood. When we bought our first radio device I was so inspired by Tahir Tofiq and Mohamed Salih Dilan's poems. Regardless of the folk songs I have studied, I have taken many Badini Melodies and combined it with Sorani poems. I have about 400 unrecorded songs, and many people have asked me to teach singing, but I don't believe in it.” ...

“When I used to go to school as a kid, my teacher used to always ask me a question saying what I wanted to become when I grow up, and I answered differently each time, a teacher, a doctor, a beauty salon owner, or an engineer.I was answering differently each time because I wanted to try everything. I started growing up and started thinking more, and I found out that I can't do every job out there, but I again I wanted to know what every job feels like and how I would react to it, and always wondered how I can do that. Then, I thought if I become an actor, I could experience all different kinds of jobs, and so the desire of being an actor grew inside me and I tried my best to learn until two years ago I started working in theater and short movies. I am extremely happy that I can experience different work fields by being an actor.” ...

“Organizing a fun day for children with special needs is one of my best memories. When I used to work as a volunteer photographer for the Red Cross, I suggested to plan a fun day. We took the list of the children's names from the hospital and consulted with their parents, and then organized the day for them, we also bought some gifts for them with the money we had collected. Both the children and their families were very happy and they were praying for our well being. Organizing these kinds of events through the communications department in the Red Cross inspired a philanthropist from Tehran to provide help for building a school in a village.” ...

“Mamle used to live with everyone, night and day, in the gardens or on the mountains, in gatherings. He was very down to earth, and used to talk to adults and children the same way, he was always smiling and had a great character. Even if a child had asked him for a song, he wouldn't have refused the request, he was a very simple man. He was young when he was surrounded by young people, and old when surrounded by old people.Mamle's family all have amazing singing voices, and this is why Mamle is had taken singing as his path to become one of the most well known artists in Kurdistan's history. His father used to gather his children and teach them singing all at once, and they had all learned singing. He used to correct their mistakes and give them valuable tips. Mamle even has many recorded songs with my son Chalak, and we still have them.Mamle had officially recorded his first song in 1938 and it is called (She left me).” “We were together for more than forty years, we have many memories together, and I always say it with pride that I was Mamle's wife.I spent forty years in sickness and health with the amazing artist he was. I am proud of each and every day I had spent with him, I was living my best life with him.People always show a lot of respect to me, but It will never be the same as when he was alive. We always had many guests in our house, but now the house is just empty. My life will never be the way it was with him.” ...

“Maybe from the minute you are born your destiny is written in a way that you will have to go through many trouble. No one knows about your destiny, not even you do. Ever since I was a child, my life hasn't been normal, as there was always something bad happening that I had to overcome. Hoping that I would settle for a while, something else always came up. I was always struggling, but having a good and supportive family helps you to not reach desperation even in the hardest days. Having a good person as your spouse that always tries to make you and your children happy, then you don't have to be afraid of anything. Your life becomes much easier.” ...

“Ever since I have opened my eyes, I have followed my father's passion and love for learning music, especially playing Saz because he had several instruments and he let me play them from time to time. When I turned eight years old, my father took me to a music teacher and for the first time I was introduced to the Keyboard; that teacher taught me all about music notes. When I was fourteen, I wanted to learn to play Tar, and so I asked another teacher to learn playing Tar. For about six years, that teacher taught me about Tar, and Kurdish and Persian music scales.” “I finally joined Zhi music group; I started playing music with a group and as a profession. I was the only female Saz player in the group. Many people found this odd and talked about me, but all of my family, and especially my father were very supportive of what I was doing. They encouraged me to continue because they knew music was a part of my life.We conducted many concerts around the country in order to further progress Kurdish music. We also participated in Fajr Festival in Tehran. All while I was learning how to sing and in Urmia under the instructions of another teacher.Apart from music, I study Masters in diseases caused by microbes and I work at a diagnosis lab.” ...

“Hitchhiking is a type of traveling that has become very famous in the past few years, especially among the ones who want to travel cheap. I have been traveling this way for two years now; we started hitchhiking along with one of my cousins two years ago. We wanted to go to Hormuz Island as our first destination, but we got to Ahvaz hitchhiking with three cars. What's good about hitchhiking is that you get to know the people you travel with and you create a bond with them. That bond is very important to me because it helps you get familiar with the place they are living in. They also get to know to your culture, and you get to know to their culture as well. My last travel was to Lorestan, and my longest one ever was to South, it took me 24 days.” ...

“If you own your business, meaning you are financially independent, you can be completely free about your decisions in your life. At the same time, this freedom could cause you many problems and might be difficult to succeed in maintaining. However, you will have to be the one that balances your own life. When I graduated from college, I started a business. Even though my business has nothing to do with my degree, which is Electronics Engineering, but if you didn't have the chance it doesn't mean you should stop and waste time. When you understand that, it is your time to decide.” ...

“True stories are only told when death comes. I always ask myself, "what is death?"When I open my eyes I see death in all of life's aspects. Death doesn't mean stepping into non-existence to me, but it is a way to reiterate infinity. I am always looking for death's footprint on my living body. For me, reincarnation is in the meaning of death. The fear of losing social ties is what makes death so scary. Otherwise, I believe that our souls exist forever.” ...

“I have been a shepherd since I was a kid. I didn't really have my own animals, but I was doing the work for other people. Little by little, I bought my own animals and now I own these all. If someone had been a shepherd for a long time, they almost become a veterinarian because they usually treat their animals if they are sick; they can simply go and buy the needed medicine, no need to move the animal to the doctors. As a shepherd, I really have no stress, all I think about is to find food for my animals. Your mind is really not on this world as a shepherd, you don't need to think about what you must do and mustn't do or to meet who.My family are constantly pressing me to get married, I will think about it this fall when I have less work because currently, I have dedicated all of my time to the animals.” ...

“When I used to watch TV as a kid, the cartoons that had horses were more interesting to me. In my imagination, I had a white horse that I was talking to, that I was taking care of, and I was riding to places. At the age of seven, we went to my mother's village, and for the first time I saw a horse up close. Without hesitation, I got close and felt the horse's back, and asked my dad to take me for a ride. I was so happy that I thought I was flying. After that, I was even more interested in horses and I was dreaming of it day and night. Unfortunately, in Mahabad, at the time there wasn't a place specific for horse riding. Also, my father and brothers were not supportive of the idea of keeping horses.” “The only person who supported me and helped me was my mother. However, due to the lack of proper stables in Mahabad, I got rid of the idea and started studying at the College of Economic and once I graduated, I started working as an accountant until five years ago. Then, they opened an equestrian center, and I finally was able to learn properly to ride a horse. After training very hard, I was able to become a coach assistant and help the people who want to learn to ride horses.Today, I am a training student at the equestrian center in Taran University, and it's been for about three years that I am the vice president of union of equestrians in Mahabad.” ...
